When a your vehicle has a problem, whether it's a mechanical electrical problem, choosing the best place to diagnose it will save you time and money.  Here are some tips for making the right choice.

1.Ask if the shop has ASE certified technicians, this will save you both time and money.  The best technicians in the industry are under going constant training to sharpen their skills and regularly tested to make sure they are the best in the industry.
2. The dealership for your vehicle will have all the tools, and technicians to diagnose your problem.  The one thing they often don't have is time.  If you decide to take your vehicle to the dealer, plan to be a little more patient with the hard to solve problems.
3. Ask the shop to explain their diagnoses procedure,  this will help you get an idea of what the shop is capable of.
4. Lastly, ask if the shop they have access to Manufacturer released bulletins and updates.  Many hard to find problems have already been discovered and solved.
