What should I do when my car breaks down?

1. Think personal safety first, the car can be repaired, if you're injured it can be permanent.
2. If there is smoke or steam coming from under the hood, don't open it!
3. If your car won't start, and it needs to be jump started, don't assume your problems are over when it starts, it may leave you stranded again that afternoon, get it checked right away.
4. Keep the phone number or business card of your favorite shop in your glove box, ask the shop to write the number of their favorite tow service on the back.  That way if you're stuck after hours you still have someone to call for help!
